Ferrets dumped outside pet shop

A local pet shop called St Francis for help in December 2006, when they discovered that three ferrets had been abandoned outside their door.

St Francis picked them up and took them in and provided them with a roomy cage, fresh food and some toys to help them get over their recent ordeal. The playful little trio charmed everyone who visited them, and they were all re-homed within about a week of their arrival.
We understand that owners sometimes face circumstances where they are no longer able to look after a pet, but it would cause the animals concerned far less stress and anxiety if they were taken direct to a shelter. Our staff would only request details regarding the animal - eg, name, age, medical and preferred food - which would assist us in being able to offer it the best possible care during its stay with us.
