Fundraiser of the Year 2007

We have pleasure in announcing that Julia Howard has been awarded the title of Fundraiser of the Year for 2007.

Julia - the owner of Beauty Solutions in Fareham - was unstoppable in her support of St Francis Animal Welfare last year, which included:-

- Sponsoring our 2007 Grand Draw, and donating the first prize.

- Helping out at external promotional events, such as collection days and presentations.

-Sponsoring our 2008 Calendars, and assisting with the cost of promotional items.

- Donating a percentage of funds raised at her beauty salon's fifth anniversary, and holding a raffle on their Open Day.

- Manning stalls at our own Open Days (and bringing along friends and family to help out).

- Collecting mobile telephones for our FoneAid campaign, and donating her own mobile phone to replace our Emergency Mobile Phone that was stolen from the shelter.

- Donating prizes towards raffles.

- Collecting donations of pet food at her salon over the Christmas period, and donating Christmas presents for the animals.

Apart from all this, Julia always makes time to visit our shelter and bring treats for all the animals, as well as volunteering to sit with, cuddle and groom the resident cats. She has also sponsored several of our residents, and even adopted one of our stray cats.

Everyone at St Francis is very grateful to Julia for her continued support ... and all the animals (especially our resident cats) agree that she is one in a million and no one deserves this award more!

 

UPDATE - Mar 2008 - Since this article was created, Julia was invited to be part of the Charity's Committee. We are pleased to confirm that she was officially voted in at the AGM of 12 March 2008 and currently holds the position of Membership Secretary, although she still has a great part in fundraising events. Julia initiated the idea for the Furry Friends Fun Walk taking place on 22 June 2008, and will be organising the event in conjunction with our Events Co-ordinator.
