Furry Friends Fun Walk & BBQ
This is a dog walk taking place at Itchen Valley Country Park on Sunday 22 June 2008 - from 11am - 5pm
It's a fun outing for all dogs, owners and their families!
Bring all the family - canine or otherwise - and enjoy a guided walk through Itchen Valley Country Park, followed by BBQ and refreshments, with a chance to win prizes in our raffle.
You could ask your friends and/or family to sponsor you and your dog to complete the guided walk, and help to raise funds for the hundreds of unwanted, stray or neglected dogs that come into our care every year.
We can even help you to set up your own fundraiser webpage, so sponsorship payments can be made to you online! (email us for info at fundraising@sfaw.co.uk)
The day will start with the walk itself, followed by a Family BBQ, refreshments and amusements. There will also be a stall with plenty of goodies for dogs and owners alike.
The walk is 2 miles in length, over two trails at the Itchen Valley Country Park.
Walkers will be started off on The Forest Trail, guided by our dog walking volunteers. The Forest Trail is 1 mile in length, and suited for those with special needs, such as wheelchair users. Those who are only able to walk the Forest Trail will complete this part of the walk, and be escorted back to the BBQ area for a well earned rest. The Forest Trail continues into the Paw Trail .. another mile of fun and frolics for the dogs. Our volunteers will escort you through the Paw Trail and back to our BBQ area for food, drinks and more fun for your dogs.
Just come along on the day ... the walk starts at 11am, and the BBQ will start at approximately 12.30pm.
If you would like to be sponsored, then you will need to request a Sponsorship Pack, which includes:-
- - - a free car parking voucher for the Itchen Valley Country Park (normally £2.20)
- - - a free voucher for a BBQ burger and drink
- - - sponsorship forms, for you to complete with your sponsors' details.
- - - your own webpage for online sponsorship and instant, secure card payments.
- - - a Certificate at the end of your completed walk and a SFAW car sticker to proudly display on your drive home!
