Newborn kittens (June - August 2007)
All of the pregnant cats in our special Mum and Kitten Unit have given birth within days of each other!
The Unit is now completely full to the brim, and we would like to introduce you to its current residents:-
Dolly's kittens - born on 28 June 2007.

Pippin's kittens - born on 2 July 2007

Dolly and Pippin came in to the shelter as pair, and are already reserved for adoption together, once all their kittens have found homes.
Caz's kittens - born on 28 June 2007

Caz came to the shelter together with her best friend, Tasha (photo below).

Tasha has been keeping Caz company in the Mum and Kitten Unit, although she is not pregnant herself. Tasha is a brilliant friend, and checks out anyone who comes into the mum and kitten unit, while Caz tends to her babies. Tasha and Caz will be available for rehoming together, once Caz's kittens have all found suitable homes.
Bella's kittens - born on 2 July 2007

Bella was brought to the shelter as her previous owners complained of a constant flea problem. Bella gave birth within days of her arrival, and there is now not a flea in sight! Bella is very friendly, and so proud to show off her little babies. As with the other mums, she will be available for adoption once her kittens have been rehomed.
Bean's kittens - born on 28 June 2007.

Bean was brought in as a pregnant stray. We had to re-design her Unit pen especially, as her favourite past-time is to hide herself away under things. However, since giving birth, she loves to be on show constantly, so members of staff can admire her gorgeous babies.
Gypsy and her kitten - born by Caesarian on 6 July 2007

Poor Gypsy has had quite a traumatic pregnancy and birth. Her owner moved away, and abandoned Gypsy outside the home when she was only a week or so from giving birth. We took Gypsy in as soon as we were made aware of her situation, but the stress took its toil on her, and she became very poorly. We whisked her to our vets, where she had to undergo an emergency Caesarian Section. Unfortunately, she had lost one of her two kittens.
Gypsy recouperated well after a stay in our special Isolation Unit and, thankfully, mum and kitten are now very well and healthy. Gypsy is an incredibly sweet and affectionate girl, and will make someone a fantastic companion. She will be homed together with her kitten.

UPDATE ON GYPSY - We are pleased to report that Gypsy and her kitten found a home together!
This is a photo taken shortly before they were adopted. Her little kitten was one of the biggest at the shelter for his age!
Faye's kittens - born (approx) 13 July 2007

Gorgeous Faye was found to have given birth under a school bicycle shed! Dad is still in the area, and we hope to bring him in soon, once we are able to catch him!
Faye is extremely protective over her little babies, and will growl and hiss at anyone or anything that she considers a threat. However, once she knows you are OK, she is incredibly friendly and will purr loudly while she shows off her lovely litter.
"Toots" and her kittens

This timid black and white girl was found in a shed, having given birth to two adorable kittens. She was brought in, as she had been straying for approximately 6 weeks, with no sign of an owner.
Tinkerbell and her kittens - born 14 August 2007
Tinkerbell was brought in after the sad death of her owner. She is only 18 months old, and has five kittens - a mix of males and females.

Scatty and her kittens

Scatty has three gorgeous kittens, and also arrived at the shelter with her older son, Simba.
Unfortunately, they are all victims of animal cruelty ... you can read more about their story by clicking "here".
