Schoolchildren help St Francis
Schoolchildren from Bitterne Park Secondary School decided to help St Francis Animal Welfare by holding a charity fundraising week at their school.
Julia, Amber, Yasmin, Rebecca and Jess (shown in the photo on the left) decided to create their very own Power Point presentation, using photos that they had taken of the animals at the shelter.
Their presentation was made to year 8 students at the school, and the girls asked their fellow pupils to bring in animal food and/or any donations to help the charity.
The response from the pupils was tremendous, and during the fundraising week, which took place from 11 to 15 February, the girls managed to raise a fantastic sum of £71, as well as collect many baskets full of food for the animals.
The girls presented the charity with the food they had collected, and got the chance to meet one of the animals that would benefit from some of the goodies... Angel, the beagle puppy, who is seen here, enjoying his visit from the girls.
Everyone at St Francis is very grateful to the girls, and everyone at Bitterne Park Secondary School, for their kind support of all the animals at our shelter.
